The New University interviewed the then-newly-elected 2021-22 ASUCI President Yoseph Ghazal at the beginning of his presidential term during the winter 2022 quarter. Ghazal, a fifth year computer science student, addressed his presidential goals, shared what a typical day in the office is like for him (includes tea making) and elaborated on an Arabic phrase that he adds in emails.

"Squid Game" Event at UCI

Three UCI departments — UCI Program in Global Languages and Communication, UCI Center for Critical Korean Studies and UCI International Student Excellence Programs — gathered together to host an event based on Netflix’s new television series entitled “Squid Game.”

Students had the opportunity to discuss with Kyung Hyun Kim, Professor of East Asian Studies, about the successes and impacts of the new show, as well as the opportunity to participate in Korean games featured in the show.
