The New University interviewed the then-newly-elected 2021-22 ASUCI President Yoseph Ghazal at the beginning of his presidential term during the winter 2022 quarter. Ghazal, a fifth year computer science student, addressed his presidential goals, shared what a typical day in the office is like for him (includes tea making) and elaborated on an Arabic phrase that he adds in emails.

New University’s 65 Questions with CHC President Rachel Wang. Wang, a third year English student, has been involved with the Campuswide Honors Collegium since 2019. Walking through the ground level of the Science Library, the New University was acquainted with Wang's children’s novel “Fighting Problems,” their passion for fashion and their thoughts on the Oxford comma.

With March Madness 2022 on the rise, the New University visited the Bren Events Center to discuss with Baker about his basketball journey, his favorite aspects of playing for the UCI Anteaters and how he became fluent in Chuukese.

New University's 65 Questions with KUCI Broadcast Media Coordinator Kevin Stockdale. Stockdale, a UCI Class of 1988 alum, has been at the helm of KUCI 88.9 FM for 35+ years. The New University was walked through the day-to-day operations at KUCI, including a glimpse at the library of CDs and Stockdale’s Simpson’s memorabilia collection within the studio.

Three UCI departments — UCI Program in Global Languages and Communication, UCI Center for Critical Korean Studies and UCI International Student Excellence Programs — gathered together to host an event based on Netflix’s new television series entitled “Squid Game.”

Students had the opportunity to discuss with Kyung Hyun Kim, Professor of East Asian Studies, about the successes and impacts of the new show, as well as the opportunity to participate in Korean games featured in the show.
